IAA Awards

IAA Regional Awards

The category winners in each district automatically go forward to the overall regional awards event in Inverness in November where two additional special categories are included for the overall H & I awards; ‘Innovative and/exemplary use of timber’, and the ‘Highlands and Islands Building of the year’. The latter awards are open to Architects from outwith the IAA area.

IAA President Scott Donald said; “With two Andrew Doolan Award winners – Page and Park’s Maggie’s Inverness, and the Riaich and Hall’s Pier Arts Centre in Stromness – and more than our share of RIBA award winners in the Highlands and Islands, the building of the year will be hotly contested” said Donald, “but the primary purpose of the scheme is to encourage and empower our members to take pride in their work; and to show the public that Architecture has value and enhances their local environment and isn’t just Grand Designs or major projects”

The regional Awards for the Highlands and Islands will follow the District Awards and will be presented at an event / dinner dance on 14 November 2008 in the ‘One Touch’ Theatre at Eden Court, Inverness.
